If you want God to agree with you, first coax your friend
You may be able to coax God, but its problem to coax the Beloved
I may become disreputable through my actions to please the Beloved
While a brief prayer is enough to please God if the Beloved is not pleased
then you've to resort to means disreputable
I swear on God, the one who knows how to treat his Beloved God won't be annoyed with him
He who sees the Beloved need not to perform the pilgrimage to Mecca
He who revels in coaxing the beloved need not to Incantate
Even whirling like dervishes is a prayer But one should know the rhythms of the whirl True,
you may be condemned to disrepute,
but you'll win the Beloved's heart
Love does not fear death,
even if one is crucified Through whirling I'l1 coax ~y Beloved even if I'm brought to disrepute
Throw away the veil of coyness,
whirl and dance to please your Beloved
Be a courtesan like the poet, Bulleh Shah,
Who wore ankle-bells and danced,
then God can be coaxed
God cannot be pleased without coaxing your Beloved
Bow your head at the threshold of your Beloved Do what pleases your Beloved
Unfulfilled you'l1 remain without your Beloved
Nothing will be achieved through prostration's without the Beloved
See the result of bowing at the feet of your Beloved
If you want to be victorious then learn to be vanquished in love
Do what your Beloved wishes you to do then all the sorrows of the world will vanish from your life
Your slumbered fortunes will reawaken
Once your Beloved forgives you, the victory is yours
Coax the annoyed Beloved if you want to survive
Whether you've to whirl,
dance or weep
If you cannot appreciate how to go down for the sake of your Beloved
Then crush the rosary because you do not know how to pray
Such are the secrets revealed by love thus spoke my heart to me
Those who forget their Beloved are ruined and
Never prosper Once love is given to the Beloved it cannot be
forgotten And the head bowed at the feet of the Beloved cannot be raised Listen to your Beloved,
do not be embarrassed by the people even if you're reduced to worthlessness
even if you've to graze unclean swains,
God will agree Whoever pleases the Beloved will rejoice
And those who displease the Beloved will
suffer the agony O Sadiq,
waste no time,
act swiftly and coax your Beloved to coax God
